Description

Called cantaloupes in Europe (and not to be confused with the American Cantaloupe which is a completely different species). Ideal for fruit salads and fresh platters. Melon pieces wrapped in prosciutto are a familiar antipasto. Yum! The porous skin can carry bacteria, so it is always a good idea to wash a melon thoroughly before cutting and consumption. Only store the fruit after cutting for less than three days to prevent risk bacteria.
